Gallowhill Primary School Pilot
The focus of this pilot is to use the motivated schools approach to offer all teachers the opportunity to reflect on their motivational style and their capacity to motivate all children. In addition we hope to develop a context to enable the sharing of effective strategies, to nurture collegiality and a sense of common purpose.
It is hoped that the school staff, through self-evaluation, peer support and discussion, will become more aware of what motivates them and de-motivates them, as class teachers. The project will give staff the opportunity to:
· Look first at ourselves and what triggers our motivation
· Look at how we teach and how motivating our classroom is
The intention is to evaluate the project using the self-evaluation forms from the motivated schools pack at the beginning and end of the project. In this way, any improvements can be recorded. The intention is to use this information to develop a whole-school action plan for motivation.
